2. Plug Construction

Once the design is finalized, we take care of constructing the plug. This can be a CNC-milled model or a handcrafted MDF model, meticulously sanded and sprayed to a smooth finish.

3. Mold Construction

Is the plug complete? Next, we create the mold, crafted from a durable combination of premium polyester and fiberglass. It is reinforced with a robust iron frame.

4. Product Realization

Using the mold as a blueprint, the production process begins. At Adel Composites, we specialize in multiple production techniques:

Product Realization - Hand lay-up

Hand lay-up

An open-mold technique The fiber mats are impregnated with resin. These are applied layer by layer onto the gelcoat until the desired thickness is reached. The hand lay-up process offers precise control over material thickness and placement.

Product Realization - Spray lay-up

Spray lay-up

An open-mold technique where chopped fiberglass mixed with resin is sprayed directly into the mold. This method allows for rapid coverage of large surfaces to the desired thickness.

Product Realization - Vacuum infusion

Vacuum infusion

This process involves placing a fiber structure within or on the mold, optionally incorporating core material. The entire laminate structure is infused with resin under vacuum pressure. This process produces a final product that is both strong and lightweight.

Resin Transfer Molding (RTM)

A closed-mold process where a glass mat package with core material is placed in a two-part mold. Resin is injected into the mold under controlled pressure. This technique ensures high dimensional accuracy thanks to the use of a closed mold.
